When we moved to Connecticut over 15-years ago from the Midwest not only didn't we know the area, we didn't know a soul in the State. There was no supporting network of friends or family for referrals and advice. Needless to say, we felt very alone and isolated. Initially we rented a duplex with the majority of our things in boxes while we fruitlessly looked for a house. We talked with many different agents but couldn't find anyone who seemed to understand our needs. As we neared the end of our six month lease, we wern't any closer to finding a home. The problem was that no one ever seemed to listen to what we were looking for, what we needed in a house for it to become a home.
Finally, in desperation, we struck out on our own and began to tour open houses. This is where we first crossed paths with Janice. From the moment we stepped into that house, we noticed a difference. She didn't follow us around or incessantly prattle on about what we should be looking for in a house. What she did do (and this is the thing we'll never forget) is ask about us, not as potential clients but as a couple. For two people far from home trying to make a new life, this made all the difference in the world. We left that day after a pleasant conversation feeling like someone had finally heard us. Janice did not attempt to hunt us down (as so many of the agents did) and in short order we called her asking that she become our agent.
After several more conversations in which Janice spent time getting to know us and explore our likes and dislikes, we received a call from Janice. She started the call with the question, "How do you feel about being alone?" Great we replied. "No, I mean reallly out from town on your own?" No problem, we replied again. "Then I think I found your house". And she had. It was exactly what we had been looking for, and interestingly this house had been on the market for over a year and no one else had ever shown it to us. Because no one else had ever taken the time to get to know us or understand our needs. Janice then very effectively steered us through the negotiation and inspection process insuring the deal with no surprises.
Janice's outstanding knowledge and experience as a realtor are a given, but we believe it is all the intangibles she brings to the table that set her apart. She has a wealth of experts at her disposal which she freely shares with you long after the transaction closes. But most importantly, she cares that you get what you want, the way you want, and treats each person as an individual. 15-years later, as we began to think about moving to a bigger house, it's no surprise that Janice was the first person we called.

There is a complexity to relocating a family that extends beyond the buy/sell logistics. In the beginning when I turned over my home to Janice, I did so with total confidence while I focused on the matters of "moving". The more entrenched I became in the experience of selling my home, the more grateful I was for Janice's professional savvy and logistical real estate know-how. She attended to every detail all the way through to the successful completion of the sale. Not only did she sell my home, but she sold it at the high end of what other realtors had considered possible. I continue to remain a loyal client, ready and willing to refer friends and family in the certain knowledge they will be cared for, and provide this testimonial with my unreserved recommention for her services.

Janice's knowledge of the real estate market comes from a unique blend of experience, facts, and intuition. Her market analysis of our property was complete and concise. Janice provided us with the information and guidance we neded to market our home properly and successfully. It was a pleasant experience form start to finish! We loved working with her!
